The Faculty of Medicine and the GSLS offer scholarships to support medical doctoral studies. Each scholarship amounts to a total of €5,028. Travel expenses for active participation in international conferences and for research stays are also available. Requirements for applying for a scholarship: Completion of an experimental or clinical-epidemiological doctoral thesis, usually involving nine months of full-time work during a sabbatical. The results of the thesis are expected to be published in at least one publication in an international peer-reviewed journal with the doctoral candidate as author. Applications must generally be submitted before the start of the experimental or clinical-epidemiological research activity. Please allow at least three additional months for processing. Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the accompanying courses (structured doctoral programs). In particular, participation in the interdisciplinary seminar for medical doctoral students is mandatory for scholarship recipients. Applications can be submitted to the GSLS by March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1 of each year.
