In this presentation course, participants learn how to communicate scientific content clearly, convincingly, and in a way that fits their audience - both in-person and on camera.
The course focuses on the structuring and organisation of scientific presentations: building a coherent storyline, developing clear arguments, and delivering concise take-home messages.
Another key topic is the visualisation of data—how to design figures, charts, and tables so they are easy to read and support the core message.
We also work on appearance and body language to strengthen presence and confidence, including posture, gestures, and voice.
In addition, participants learn the sensible use of media (e.g., slides, animations, handouts, interactive elements) to enhance the talk without distracting from the content.
A practical component is camera exercises: short recorded sessions with feedback on clarity, impact, and on-screen performance—ideal for presentations online and offline.
Note: Registration of GSLS/GSST doctoral researchers has priority to non-GSLS/GSST participants. Non-GSLS/GSST participants pay a service and workshop fee of EUR 50 by bank transfer.
